RL with Arcee

Zel had been expecting trouble with the guards, but they seemed to accept the explanation that he was Arcee's friend from another dimension.  He wasn't sure he wanted to think about what that meant for daily life around here.

It struck him that he didn't really have the best idea of what Arcee would look like, so he'd resorted to asking a few guards for directions.  Drastic measures indeed.

Zel's eyes widened. "You have got to be kidding me."

"It's a little extreme, yes. Are you feeling alright, apart from the obvious?"

Zel shook his head. "Well, if you're sure you're alright... How you have tolerance like that when you're not even usually human I don't know."

"If you haven't yet, you should be fine." Not that he was an expert, but he was trying not to agitate her.

He moves over so he's in a position to catch her if she's feeling wobbly. "Well, you look fine..."

He really hopes she doesn't decide to take that the wrong way...

Zel sighed. It was starting to look like this would be more difficult than he'd thought.

"No, I'm fine. It's just warm in here." He really hopes that works as an excuse.

"It's no big deal, honestly. Maybe you should sit down..."

He follows her and just leans on the back of the couch. "You're sure you're alright?"

He slips around to sit down next to her and rub at her shoulder softly, not saying anything for the moment.

He pats her awkwardly; he's not used to this. "It's alright. I think everybody ends up doing this once, if only to teach themselves never to do it again."

"Do you know if they have something to deal with pain here? Aspirin or something?" He was fairly sure he'd pronounced that right.

"Maybe I should check, later. It should help, at least a little."

Zel can't help smiling a little at Arcee curling up like that.

He smiled back at her. "You're my friend; of course I came."

"Don't apologize. Really. I'm not mad." His hand rests on her shoulder again; he's still having a little trouble with the whole comforting thing.

He tries to slip away to let Arcee lay on the couch. Friend or not, he doesn't really want to be a pillow all night.

He drapes a blanket over her gently and sneaks out as quietly as he can. He pauses in the doorway to look back at her and whisper, "Goodnight, Arcee."
